Entry Taiwan (from Frankfurt)

Currently, if you plan to Travel to Taiwan, this is what you’ll probably have to do/go through:

1⃣ PCR test within 48 hours before entering Taiwan is required
The form “Quarantine System for Entry” has to be filled out: https://www.roc-taiwan.org/usnyc_en/post/5144.html

2⃣ The government will test you again once you arrive at the airport

The result will come out in about 1 hour, and:

If you’re tested positive (+)
-> you’ll be taken to the quarantine hotel (free of charge)

If you’re tested negative (-)
-> head to your quarantine place through government assigned Taxis or Buses
(NOTE: Do not take public transportation!!!)

Meanwhile, you’ll have to get a Taiwan sim card. If you don’t have a Taiwanese phone number, simply ask the airport assistants and they’ll guide you to get one at the airport.

3⃣ You’ll have to do 10 days of quarantine at your chosen quarantine place.

Self-tests have to be done on Day 3,5, and 10 (the day you arrive is counted as Day 0)(See photo 1).
Results have to be uploaded to your assigned contact person.
Besides, you’ll get an automation text message from the government every day asking if you’re feeling ok (See photo 2).
(NOTE: Do not leave your quarantine place and do not turn off your cellphone!!!)

For example:
I arrived at the airport on April 13th,
I’ll have to do self-tests on April 16, 18, 23, 25 and 27
.

Reply “1” if you’re feeling fine.
Reply “2” if you’re having syndromes like coughing, fever, issues regarding smelling or tasting, etc.
Reply “3” if you have other syndromes
A test kit will be provided by the government at the airport
Depending on different counties, you’ll get a quarantine bag!
For example, I’m doing my quarantine in Kaohsiung
I got loads of Taiwanese foods, coffee, instant noodle, masks, and even bleach for disinfection.

4⃣ After 10 days of quarantine. You can leave your quarantine place.
But remember, for the next 7 days on Day 2 and day 4, you’ll still have to do the self-test. And in the meantime, try to avoid crowded public places and remember to wear a mask 🙂
