East Rift Valley is a beautiful place spanning across Hualien and Taitung County with vast mountain landscapes and delicious local produce.🌱

Mr Brown Coffee (伯朗咖啡), a Taiwanese canned coffee and café chain with the same parent company as Kavalan Whiskey, filmed a commercial among the rice paddies in Chishang during the late 2000s. Afterwards, the scene came to be known as 池上伯朗大道 (Brown Boulevard” or Mr Brown Avenue).

Riding along the bikeway is a great way to take in the land that is eastern Taiwan’s largest rice granary, much of the crop grown here is bound for export to Japan. During the year’s seasons, the views are markedly different, ranging from seas of golden rice ears to fields of bright-yellow rapeseed.🍚

Chishang and Guanshan are the most extensive rice paddy cultivation areas in Taiwan Due to the rainfall and the untainted environment, the rice produced here are famous for its high quality.
