๐ซ River Tracing Worthit!
๐ Jia Jiu Liao, Wulai, New Taipei, Taiwan
River tracing has been a popular sport in Taiwan. The activity allows you to venture into the untouched territory by following a river up the side of the mountain while wading through small rapids and climbing over rocks and other obstacles. โฐ
Jiajiuliao Creek is a tributary located beside the Wulai Red River Valley. The special terrain of the canyon has created natural sand dams, rapids, deep pools and small waterfalls. The canyon’s surrounding rich ecology is absolutely the place to experience the most precious environment of Taiwan’s valleys! ๐ง
โ Stuffs to be prepared โ
We recommend preparing an airtight dry bag and filling it with cameras, towels, drinking water, and other essentials such as food or phones.๐
It’s essential to wear the right type of shoes such as river-tracing boots (wetsuit boots).๐ข
Make sure you get the right boots otherwise it could be really dangerous to walk on the slippery stones. Alternatively, you can wear bigger-sized socks outside your shoes.๐งฆ
Clothing depends on the weather; wetsuits will be ideal. Lifejackets and helmets are helpful tools too.๐ช
It is highly recommended to wear the helmets at all times due to the potential landslides or falling rocks from aside.โ
Climbing harness, ropes and Locking carabiner are for the more advanced trips.
